Für Zoe Baranek (sie/ihr) beginnt künstlerisches Arbeiten mit dem Akt des Findens: Ein Schuh, ein Satzfragment, eine Werbung, eine Skizze. Ihre Fundstücke archiviert, kopiert, zerschneidet und überträgt sie in neue Medien. Bis sie kaum wiederzuerkennen sind und doch eine Spur ihres Ursprungs bewahren. Text wird zu Malerei, Plastikfolie zum Objekt, ein Strassenschild zum Karton-Relief. Ihre plastischen Arbeiten entstehen aus spontanen Begegnungen, die sich in ihr Gedächtnis eingebrannt haben und an der Jungkunst zu persönlichen Denkmälern transformiert werden. Das Alltägliche kippt ins Poetische, das Banale verwandelt sich ins Rätselhafte. Wiederholung bedeutet bei Zoe nicht Stillstand, sondern Freilegung.
For Zoe Baranek (she/her), artistic practice begins with the act of finding: a shoe, a fragment of a sentence, an advertisement, a sketch. What she gathers she archives, copies, cuts apart and transposes into new media—until it is scarcely recognisable, yet still carrying a trace of its origin. Text becomes painting, plastic sheeting becomes object, a street sign transforms into a cardboard relief. Her sculptural works arise from fleeting encounters that have etched themselves into memory and, at Jungkunst, are transfigured into personal monuments. The everyday slips into the poetic; the banal acquires an enigmatic charge. Repetition, in Zoe’s work, is never stagnation but a form of excavation.
